社恐 can turn the ten steps from a restaurant door to the table into the hardest part of dinner. In casual chat, people use it as a self-deprecating label when a social moment feels intimidating enough that they circle outside, rehearse what to say, delay a call, or ask a friend to come get them.
Those visible choices matter. 我社恐 is not automatically funny or convincing on its own; the scene should show what the speaker is trying not to do. The online label is also looser than a clinical term and is not simply another word for being introverted.
