ChineseNuance provides educational explanations of Chinese language, tone, and cultural context. It is not a certified translation, legal, employment, relationship, or safety advisory service.
Context matters
The meaning of an expression can change with region, age, relationship, delivery, punctuation, and platform. Examples illustrate common possibilities, not universal rules about Chinese speakers.
Editorial process
Automated tools may assist discovery, research, drafting, and quality checks. Entries are held for editorial review before publication, and corrections may be made when better evidence becomes available.
Sources and feedback
Origin and usage claims should be grounded in listed sources. Readers may report language mistakes or missing context through the feedback control.
Avatars, stickers, credits and licences
Fictional conversation participants use locally stored avatars generated with the DiceBear Lorelei, Notionists, and Open Peeps styles under CC0 1.0. Conversation examples may also include selected Twemoji graphics under CC BY 4.0 and OpenMoji graphics under CC BY-SA 4.0. Each published asset keeps its creator, pinned source page, licence, and usage metadata in a local manifest. We exclude scraped meme collections, celebrities, films, television, games, brands, and other rights-unclear imagery from the published catalogue. Avatars and stickers are displayed as part of learning conversations and are not offered as standalone downloadable asset catalogues.
Acceptable use
Site content may be quoted with attribution for personal and educational use. Republishing substantial portions or automated bulk extraction is not permitted without written approval.
Accounts
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping any password you set confidential. You may sign in through Google or add a ChineseNuance password to the same verified email account. Do not impersonate others, misuse verification systems, or attempt to access another person’s account.
Google sign-in
Google sign-in is provided through Google’s authentication service and is subject to Google’s applicable terms and privacy practices. ChineseNuance receives only the basic identity information described in our Privacy Policy and remains responsible for its own handling of that information. Google does not sponsor or endorse ChineseNuance.
Account termination
You may permanently delete your account from My Account → Password & security. We may suspend or terminate accounts used for abuse, security attacks, unlawful activity, or material violations of these terms.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the service changes. Continued use after an updated effective date means you accept the revised terms. Questions may be sent to support@chinesenuance.com.
